My 1:1 work with clients centers around supporting folks to feel more flexible and confident with their food choices. Through mindful self-inquiry, I facilitate personal exploration that will allow you to understand your relationship and habits with food and your health. We integrate this understanding with self-compassion and nutritional healing to define your unique and balanced well being.
Caring for our physical and mental health is a lifelong journey with twists and turns along the way. Though seemingly simple, making choices to support our health and well being can be deceptively complex. It is not as simple as "self-care". Pursuing health requires us to consider our work, family, finances, goals, self-image, preferences, and systemic demands on our time, body and energy...it is far from easy! Throw in a culture that demands us to be smaller, quieter, and accepting of "good enough", we can accidentally move away from our unique path.
Our bodies are our wisest resource. Our world teaches us to numb, run from, and ignore our body. The first step to healing is to reconnect to the cues of our body - and food can be the gateway to better understanding your body and yourself.
I integrate my years of nutrition and health-related education and weight neutral eating disorder care with the art of self-compassion, mind-body practices and therapeutic modalities to support nutrition healing that extends beyond what you put on your plate. Learn how to let go of the noise and reconnect to what matters most to you.
I am Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed, a certified yoga teacher, mindfulness teacher, and health coach. I earned my M.S. in Foods & Nutrition researching bone health in youth. My four years working as a nutrition researcher and seven years counseling hundreds of clients allow me to marry scientific inquiry with the art of health behavior change.
My seven years in outpatient counseling have been focused on trauma informed eating disorder and disordered eating recovery. I have created dozens of workshops, seminars, and trainings dedicated to accessibile health and wellness topics without prescriptive language or harsh rules to follow.
My continued learning is focused to help my clients heal their relationship with food. This includes psychological approaches like IFS, but also investigating the impacts of diet culture, systemic oppression and racism, food security, and intersectional identities on health.
